Coins prices vary with precious metal pricing but also vary with rarity if the coin. For years I collected Spanish silver coins for their artistic value to me; not because they were silver necessarily but simply because they were important to me. Silver coin prices have fluctuated with other coin prices for a myriad of reasons. If you collect for material value and not by grade or art value then now may be a good time to consider selling some of those coins while precious metals are at their highs.
Coins that are scarce, hard to find, rarely minted or minted in very limited quantities tend to have a greater value in the market place and tend to be higher than other silver coin prices. Coin prices go up and down.
